I still remember a tutorial as a 14 year old when I bought my very first SRL…

He (I wish I knew who he was!) taught me about the balance of getting correct exposure using aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how each one affected depth of field, movement and grain respectively.

I walked out of the library after the tutorial and literally saw the whole world in a different light.

I must have looked very strange walking down the street crouching down, framing things with my hands, squinting through one eye – what a weirdo!

And to be honest, I haven’t stopped doing it since!

Being a photographer is who I am not just what I do and I still absolutely LOVE it!

Since that first tutorial… I also achieved a degree in photography at JCU, graduating at only 19 years old. Too young to set up a business straight away, I decided to travel the world first and became a photographer on the Wind Surf, sailing through the Mediterranean and Caribbean, photographing events like the Monaco Grand Prix and Cannes Film Festival! I lived in Ireland and then Scotland where I joined the creative team at Venture Studios. This is where my love for a unique style of studio portraiture began and a few years later, I moved home to set up my very own family portrait studio in 2012.

I have photographed thousands of families since then – capturing them not just growing, but growing UP! I can’t wait for my first shoot where a little one I have met, has now grown up enough to have a little one of their own – I know it’s not far off!

I am Mum to Charlie (the cat), George (the dog) and at long last, Xavier (the human!). After 12 years of living in Brisbane, the country air is calling and we are now calling the Scenic Rim our home!

I will maintain a studio base in Brisbane at 7/77 Oxford Street, Bulimba thanks to our good friends at B Hair!

And will be exploring the Great Outdoors with location shoots available in the Scenic Rim and surrounds… including weddings and events. And a BRAND NEW STUDIO has just been set up in the heart of Boonah – that is also the heart of the Scenic Rim! It is all HEART here and I would love for you to make a day or weekend of it and explore this beautiful region… and of course, have a photo shoot while you are here too!

My style is very much to capture your style – there are no rules, every shoot is totally different. I love hearing your story and capturing the real and natural moments that tell that story. The more I do this, the more I believe in the value of a photograph and how precious time with family is. These tiny little moments can be captured right now and relived and shared forever!
